Cork: Representing Syro- Malabar Catholics in Cork, Mr. Dino George & Mr. Shinto Jose (Trustees) handed over a cheque for € 4000 towards the ‘COVID 19 Response Aid for India’ to Mr. Jerry McNamara, FC member of SMA Parish on Sunday. Parish Priest of SMA (Society of African Missions) Wilton, Fr. Micheal O’ Leary and Chaplain of SMCC Cork, Fr. Sibi Arackal were in attendance at the time.
The amount was contributed by the members of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Cork, to support the people affected by the devastating deadly surge of COVID 19 in India. It was genuine support and cooperation from the members. Family Unit leaders took their initiative and efforts for the collection of the amount.
Fr. Michael O’ Leary thanked all the members of the SMCC Cork, who contributed towards this urgent need to battle the crisis. He stated that the money will be given to the needy people in India, compliant with Gov. of India’s law for donations.
Syro- Malabar Chaplain, Fr. Sibi Arackal and Trustees also expressed their sincere thanks to the members and Family Unit leaders who joined together to support our country. Also extended their thanks to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Clonakilty Parish, for the contribution of € 1000 towards it.
